Coach Christina Raiti began her high school career at Plainview JFK as a 7th grader before she transferred over to LuHi in 9th Grade. At LuHi she was a 4 year starter and led the Crusaders to their 1st NY State Federation title in 2011. After high school, she went on to play for Trinity College in Hartford, CT, where she was a 2-year captain for the Bantams. After college, Raiti returned back to LuHi where she is currently the Assistant Athletic Director and the Assistant Coach for the powerhouse Girls Varsity team. This past year, she worked alongside other LuHi staff members and help found the 1st ever Mandy's Mark Memorial Classic, a High School All-Star game which helps raise money for Pediatric Cancer Awareness and Research. Coach Christina is the co-owner of Empire Youth Athletics, a youth sports organization.
The LuHi Girls Basketball School is entirely based on meeting the individual needs of every camper. Daily stress is on improving the fundamental skills of the game. Team play is also developed through daily games and contests. The largest percentages of our campers every session are returning players, a sign of our success for over 30 seasons. Each day of a session has a unique schedule with a skill of the day. Players will be put through break-down drills, station work, and structured live play all focused on the skill of the day. Coaches try to simulate team practices where they hold players to high expectations to work on intangible skills. The goal of the LuHi Girls Basketball School is to create well-rounded, coachable, basketball players.
